Updates on the length of Britt Baker's contract in AEW

According to reports, the former All Elite champion would extend her contract until 2027.

Baker's absence from AEW programming is reportedly due to a decision made by the company itself

Brit Baker is undoubtedly one of the most relevant wrestlers in historical terms within the short life of All Elite Wrestling. However, her difficult personality and the complicated injuries she has suffered have caused many to speculate in recent times about a possible departure from the company. In a question and answer session with Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp shed light on this matter.

According to the journalist, Baker still has a contract with Tony Khan's company. However, the most surprising news is that Sapp has stated that the agreement between the company and the wrestler would have a longer duration than previously thought. This is due, in part, to the numerous injuries the wrestler has suffered, which could lead to an extension of her contract until 2027

"Her contract lasts at least a year. At least a year. And then they could add time for injury, assuming it's like other contracts. That would easily take her to 2027," commented Sapp. This would distance a possible future for the wrestler in WWE that many were already speculating about. Nevertheless, the wrestler has made it clear that these comments were simply falsehoods, so, for the time being, it seems that the wrestler will remain with Khan's company.

Baker's return to programming

In his intervention, Sapp also explained the reason why the wrestler has not returned to AEW television after almost a whole year. The wrestler, who was sidelined from creative plans due to internal tensions and causing conflict in the locker room, would be willing to return at any time.

"Unfortunately for her, the company's decision has been not to show her on television again. From what I understand, she has been willing to return. She is healthy... All that. She worked for years with injuries, then had to take some time off, went through really terrible things and couldn't train properly. I think we will see her again... It's just that AEW hasn't done it," Sapp concluded.
