One of the most relevant issues within the media agenda of professional wrestling is the serious accusations that AKIRA launched against his ex-partner, former TNA champion Masha Slamovic. AKIRA accused her of assaulting him, and based his claims on a series of messages and photographs. In response, TNA did not issue any official statement, but did remove the wrestler from the Victory Road event card, where she was scheduled to compete for the TNA Knockouts Championship.
Furthermore, many speculated that this incident with the wrestler could alter the creative plans revolving around the interpromotional conflict storyline between NXT and TNA. Many even believed that she was not well-received in the WWE developmental territory locker room. However, in the last hours, Fightful Select has published information stating that the episode between AKIRA and Slamovic has not caused any issues in the storyline.
Sean Ross Sapp has reported that the wrestler was not even in the United States on the day the NXT invasion segment by TNA took place. Nevertheless, WWE sources have stated that, had she been part of the invasion angle, the wrestler would have been removed from the storyline.
However, the most important piece of information from these Fightful reports is that TNA had no intention of renewing the wrestler's contract once it expired. "And since her contract was expiring soon anyway, it wasn't planned for her to win the match she had scheduled against Ash by Elegance. That's why she recently lost the title. They really didn't have confidence that she would continue with the company after, probably, the Bound for Glory season. So she was practically already out," stated Sapp.
