Live Report of WWE SmackDown October 3, 2025

WWE SmackDown starts on Netflix!

Cody Rhodes is the one to open the show tonight. "The American Nightmare" is greeted with a great ovation and a thunderous fireworks display. Cody heads towards the ring while greeting some fans in the front row. Rhodes shows his Crown Jewel ring to the camera before entering the ring, where he continues to pose for the fans. "Cody, Cody!" chant the fans as the champion's theme music stops playing. "Well, Cincinnati, what do you want to talk about?" Rhodes asks.

"Well, there's a lot we'd like to talk about," responds the voice of Paul Heyman.

"The Oracle" appears on the scene accompanied by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The three men take their positions on the apron as Rhodes prepares for the imminent assault. However...

Randy Orton quickly joins Cody!

Heyman points out that they are not here to talk to Rhodes, but to Randy. Paul admits that it's hard to get in touch with "The Viper," so he proposed to his companions to threaten Cody to force Orton to come out. "RKO, RKO," chant the fans. Heyman mocks them before focusing again on Cody and Randy. Paul assures them that tonight they will lose their match against Breakker and Reed. And once that happens, if it's Cody who gets the three count, Randy will look at him, wondering: "Is this the Undisputed WWE Champion? I can do better than him." And that's something everyone present knows will happen. On the other hand, if it's Orton who receives the count, he will think: "Where were you, champion?". Regardless of what happens, the truth is that their alliance won't last, and that's not a prediction, but a prophecy. Heyman drops the microphone and leaves the place with Bronson and Bron. Cody and Randy remain silent in the ring. And so we reach the end of the first segment of the night.

We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists: Tiffany Stratton and Carmelo Hayes. The latter meets The Miz, who demands an explanation for what happened last week. The Miz knows that Hayes did nothing to interrupt the three count that cost them the match. Carmelo jokes, pointing out that The Miz should have escaped himself. The Miz reminds him that teams work with both members supporting each other. Carmelo replies that The Miz is not the partner who is supposed to have his back, but someone who keeps getting in his way. That's why he has decided that their alliance is over. "And I'm being classy about this, because usually I shoot first," says Hayes. "But we're good," he adds before leaving.

We see some Cincinnati Bengals players in the front row.

Sami Zayn makes his entrance into the ring, where he awaits his opponent for tonight.

Carmelo Hayes appears on the entrance ramp! With a microphone in hand, Hayes recalls that they have already competed for the gold, but this time it's different. He no longer has anyone behind obstructing his vision and getting in the way of his goal to conquer the United States Championship. "Because you know how great I am. I know how great I am. And tonight, here in Cincinnati, I am better than I have ever been. So, Sami, it's time for me to show you exactly why I am..." says HIM before being surprised by The Miz, who applies a Skull Crushing Finale to him on the floor!

Several officials rush to assist Hayes. Aleister Black appears on the scene to pick up the microphone from the floor. "Oh, what bad luck," says the Dutchman looking at Carmelo. Aleister walks towards the ring. "Open challenge for the United States Championship. I accept," says Black before climbing into the ring.

Winner and STILL United States Champion: Sami Zayn

An exhausted Sami leaves backstage. Meanwhile, Priest approaches Aleister. Suddenly, he pulls him out of the ring to execute a Razor's Edge on the commentator's table, which ends up shattered. Priest poses over his fallen enemy before returning backstage.

We see a backstage video before the show. Nick Aldis was talking with Sol Ruca and Zaria, to whom he predicted a great future. Suddenly, they were interrupted by Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre. Green intended to present an idea to Aldis, but he indicated that he was busy. Chelsea didn't miss the opportunity and offered the NXT talent the opportunity to work for her. However, they would have to prove their worth first. Ruca and Zaria were not interested in that job. Also, the last time they faced The Secret Service, they defeated them. Zaria pointed out that they were not on the blue brand to be part of Chelsea's team, but to show that they can be challengers for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. Chelsea noted that the NXT talent was wasting a unique opportunity in life. Sol and Zaria agreed on that point. It would be a shame not to take advantage of the opportunity... to face them. An idea that pleased Aldis, who quickly scheduled the match. Upset by the General Manager's decision, Green and Fyre left the place to end the segment.

Tag Team Match
ZaRuca (Sol Ruca and Zaria) vs. Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre

Alba and Zaria start the match. The Scot corners the Australian in one of the corners. Furious, Zaria responds forcefully, trapping Alba in a sleeperhold from the second rope. The referee orders the NXT talent to release their prey. Once free, Alba gives the tag to Chelsea.

ZaRuca combine against the Canadian. Sol traps Green in an inverted tarantula before Zaria hits her with a bicycle kick. Ruca finishes off the Canadian with a faceplant. 1..2..NO. The action continues. Alba intervenes from the apron, grabbing Sol by the hair so Chelsea can take her down. Fyre finishes her off with a dropkick. Sol falls to ringside.

Green kicks Ruca with a Penalty Kick while Alba jumps on Zaria with a suicide dive. The action returns to the ring. Chelsea and Alba combine against Sol, hitting her with two consecutive superkicks. Green finishes her off with a facebuster. 1..2..NO. Furious, Zaria makes Alba fall from the apron to then throw her against the audience barrier. Meanwhile, Ruca surprises Chelsea with a Sol Snatcher. 1..2..3.

Winners: ZaRuca

Cathy Kelley interviews Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair backstage. Both praise ZaRuca for their victory tonight. Bliss knows it's complicated when you have a partner who thinks she's a "queen." For her part, Flair acknowledges that Sol and Zaria are doing very well. She is also aware that they have their sights set on the Tag Team Championships. Charlotte and Alexa assure that ZaRuca will get the opportunity they want when they are ready. "Whoooo!" exclaims Charlotte before encouraging her partner to repeat it. Alexa refuses. Not so Cathy, who surprises them with a timid "Whoo!" Bliss leaves laughing. Charlotte soon follows her, ending the interview.

Cody Rhodes approaches Randy Orton backstage. Rhodes asks Orton to forget what Paul Heyman said. "Who cares what Heyman says?" "The Viper" replies. "Perfect. You know I support you," says Rhodes. "I support you too, Cody," Randy replies as he fist bumps his partner. "The Viper" leaves the place to end the segment.

Nick Aldis welcomes us in the center of the ring for the contract signing of the women's match that will take place at WWE Crown Jewel. The General Manager introduces Tiffany Stratton, who makes her entrance to take a seat. The next to appear is Stephanie Vaquer. "The First" takes a microphone to show her respect to Tiffany. Stephanie acknowledges that Stratton has been a great champion, while she has only held her world title for two weeks. "But Tiffany, I'm going to show you who I am. I'm going to take you to Hell, because I'm not going to lose a single match. So, next week, may the best woman win," says the Chilean.

Stratton acknowledges that both have shown they are the best. But in Australia, only one can be the winner, and that will be her. With that said, Stratton signs the document. Stephanie is the next to sign her name. Both women shake hands. Aldis makes the match official with both champions by his side. Tiffany leaves the ring to return backstage. Stratton poses with the WWE Women's Championship on the entrance ramp, when suddenly she is attacked by Giulia!

"The Beautiful Madness" heads to the ring along with Kiana James. She addresses Stephanie, acknowledging that she is a star. However, she has not yet become a superstar. And that's something she can achieve if she partners with her. If she becomes her client, she can shine just like Giulia does, who is currently a better champion than the Chilean. James promises her the WWE Crown Jewel Championship if she joins her. "Or you can end up like Tiffy Time. The decision is yours," says Kiana before a recovered Stratton grabs her legs to pull her out of the ring. Tiffany knocks out James with a punch. Meanwhile, Giulia tries to attack Vaquer. She dodges her to surprise her former friend. Stephanie prepares to execute the SVB, but the Italo-Japanese escapes her clutches. The heels retreat through the entrance ramp while Stratton and Vaquer remain in the ring.

We see a backstage video before the show. Nick Aldis and Je'Von Evans leave the General Manager's office. Aldis advised Evans to keep up the good work, as WWE is following him with interest. "I see a bright future for you on SmackDown," says Nick before shaking his hand. Rey Fenix approached them to congratulate the NXT talent for their great match against Sami Zayn. That match made him think a lot, and he came to the conclusion that both could offer a great show in the ring. Je'Von thought it was a great idea, but Los Garza interrupted the conversation. Angel and Berto didn't understand why Aldis was wasting time with two "rookies" instead of focusing on two former AAA Tag Team Champions, who had already defeated Evans and Fenix on SmackDown. Je'Von and Rey then decided to challenge them to a tag team match, which Aldis didn't hesitate to schedule. Both teams faced off as the segment came to an end.

Jacob Fatu delivers a promo video. "The Samoan Werewolf" is tired of wrestlers who do nothing but complain. That's why last week he had to shut up Drew McIntyre. Fatu issues a warning to anyone who disrespects him. "Let's be clear: I'm on a roll. Raw, unfiltered. Let me prepare you. You come for me? You go straight to the ground. I go straight to the top. And in case you didn't know: Jacob Fatu goes all out, no brakes!", he exclaims to end his promo.

Tag Team Match
Los Garza (Angel and Berto) vs. Je'Von Evans and Rey Fenix

Evans and Berto start the match. Je'Von applies a springboard crossbody on Berto, who responds with an enzuigiri. 1..2..NO. Berto immobilizes Evans on the mat. Berto hits his opponent's head repeatedly, forcing the referee to intervene. Berto continues hitting his opponent, this time in one of the corners. Je'Von tries to recover, but his opponent knocks him down with a dropkick.

Evans uses the ropes to surprise Berto, but Angel quickly intervenes, kicking him from the apron. Berto throws Je'Von into Angel so he can knock him out with a right hand. Angry, Rey enters the ring and goes after Los Garza. Fenix sends Angel out of the ring before diving onto him with a tornillo. Now it's Berto who dives onto Rey. Je'Von’s turn, who dives onto all three with a tope. All four men are left lying on the ground.

Evans brings Angel back into the ring and goes for the pin. 1..2..NO. Angel recovers and regains control. Angel rubs Je'Von’s face against the top rope. Los Garza trap Evans in their corner, where they attack him at will. Angel and Berto kick Je'Von simultaneously on the apron. Evans escapes Angel and tags in Fenix. He comes in with everything, but Angel stops his momentum with a kick. Angel keeps punishing the masked man in the corner.

Fenix escapes from Angel and lands an uppercut. However, he quickly falls back into Angel’s grasp. Je'Von tries to interfere, but Berto blocks him. Berto lifts Evans onto Angel, then hits him with a Disaster Kick. Angel hits a powerbomb on Je'Von while simultaneously executing a bodyslam on Fenix. Angel pins Rey. 1..2..NO.

Fenix escapes from his opponents and tags in Je'Von, who enters on fire, even knocking over a camera as he lands a suicide dive on Angel. Evans returns to the ring, where Berto surprises him with a roll-up. Berto grabs the second rope for extra leverage, but the referee catches him.

Je'Von surprises Berto with a running knee strike. 1..2..NO. Angel breaks the count. Angel tries to throw Evans out of the ring, but the NXT talent bounces off the ropes and hits a springboard enzuigiri. Je'Von lands an OG Cutter on Angel before Rey hits a Mexican Muscle Buster on Berto. 1..2..3.

Winners: Je'Von Evans and Rey Fenix

Cathy Kelley interviews Damian Priest backstage. The Puerto Rican reminds everyone that Aleister Black has knocked him out too many times with the Black Mass. But luck runs out, and now it’s time to pay the consequences. Kit Wilson (in a wheelchair) interrupts the interview to once again accuse Priest of embodying the toxic masculinity he aims to eradicate. Wilson tells him that intimidation isn’t power—it’s just overcompensation. Wilson challenges him to keep silencing him as many times as he wants, because he will keep getting up again and again until he ends the "era of toxic aggression." Kit stands up to go face to face with Damian. With just one finger, Priest makes him sit back down. Then, he pushes the wheelchair—with the Brit still in it—down a ramp. A loud crash is heard shortly after. Kelley looks in that direction. Priest tells Cathy not to worry. "He's fine. He's 'non-toxic'. He'll be okay," says Damian. As for Aleister Black, Priest says he will go as far as needed. With that, he turns directly to the Dutchman. "Aleister. SmackDown. Next week. You and me. One-on-one. Last Man Standing. Let’s see who hits harder." says the Puerto Rican while looking into the camera before walking off.

Solo Sikoa delivers a new video promo to introduce Tala Tonga. "The big man from Japan. Seven feet tall and 300 pounds of destruction," says Solo before Tala appears on screen, standing behind his leader. Solo thanks him for helping him win the United States Championship against Jacob Fatu. "And I love you for that. There’s a monster inside you. I need you to bring it out and show everyone who you are. Because your loyalty will be rewarded as long as you're part of My Family Tree," Sikoa says. Tala places his hand on Solo’s shoulder. "I love you, Solo," Tala replies. "I love you too. I love you all. But something is missing. Something is missing for this family to be complete. Once we find the missing piece, everyone — and I mean EVERYONE — will be warned," says Sikoa to end his promo.

Cathy Kelley interviews The Street Profits and B-Fab backstage. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins make it clear they’re ready to reclaim the Tag Team Championships next week. The Wyatt Sicks interrupt the interview through a screen. Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, and Nikki Cross deliver a cryptic message, claiming that Ford and Dawkins will drown in the smoke they crave so much. "Nothing but a pile of ash," says Nikki. "From our family... to yours," says Rowan. The faction laughs. "Run," adds Erick to end the segment.

Tag Team Match
The Vision (Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed) (with Paul Heyman) vs. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton

Randy and Bron start the match. Both men grapple, driving the action into a corner. Randy unleashes a flurry of punches on Breakker before sending him out of the ring with a clothesline. Bron gets some advice from Heyman before reentering the ring. Breakker kicks Orton in the gut and corners him. Bron delivers several corner spears followed by a barrage of punches.

Randy blinds Breakker with an eye poke and then throws him out of the ring. Orton follows him. Bron surprises "The Viper" by slamming his head into the announce table. Breakker climbs to the apron and dives with a diving clothesline. Randy dodges it and responds with two body drops onto the announce table. Reed catches Orton off guard and returns the favor. Breakker drags Randy back into the ring. Reed tags in.

Bronson and Orton exchange blows. Reed traps Orton in a headlock. Randy avoids a charge from Bronson, who crashes into a turnbuckle. Cody tags in. Rhodes comes in hot. Cody hits a Disaster Kick on Reed and then clotheslines Breakker out of the ring. Rhodes dives onto him with a suicide dive.

Bron and Reed regain control in the ring. Bronson catches Cody mid-air during a Disaster Kick and counters with a bodyslam. Breakker tags in and bulldozes Rhodes with a loaded clothesline. Cody struggles to reach his corner, but Bron stops him with a body drop. Reed tags in to continue the assault on the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Cody tries to recover, but the Australian knocks him out with a headbutt. Bronson lifts Breakker onto his shoulders and uses him to deliver an enhanced splash on Rhodes. Bron punishes Cody using the bottom rope. Breakker hits multiple corner spears on Rhodes. Bronson tags in to continue the beatdown. The crowd chants for the champion. Breakker mocks them while unleashing a flurry of punches on Cody.

Rhodes dodges a charge from Reed in the corner. Cody then avoids a senton from the Aussie. Both men crawl to their corners and make the tag. Orton surprises Bron with a scoop powerslam. Bronson tries to attack "The Viper" but gets hit with a scoop powerslam as well.

Reed counters with a Death Valley Driver. Bronson climbs the ropes for a Tsunami, but Orton rushes up to stop him. Randy hits a superplex on Reed. 1..2..NO! Breakker breaks the count! Cody throws Bron out of the ring. Breakker recovers quickly. Bron jumps from the apron onto Rhodes, destroying part of the crowd barrier on impact.

Meanwhile, in the ring, Orton hits Reed with a Modified DDT. Randy gets ready to hit his finisher, but Paul Heyman climbs the apron to distract the referee. At that moment, Seth Rollins appears out of nowhere and hits Orton with a stomp! A recovered Bronson drags "The Viper" to the corner and finishes him with a Tsunami. 1..2..3.

Winners: The Vision

Rollins poses with his teammates in the ring. They begin heading backstage. Bron and Bronson notice Cody has returned to the ring and move to go after him, but Seth stops them. "He’s mine!" he shouts. Reed and Breakker obey their leader. Seth stands next to Heyman. Suddenly, Rollins slowly turns around, knowing Rhodes is on his knees in the ring. Heyman stops Rollins. "Don’t do it. Whatever you’re thinking, DON’T DO IT," "The Oracle" warns him urgently.

Seth ignores him and rushes back into the ring to hit a stomp. Cody dodges it at the last second and surprises Seth with a Cross Rhodes. Breakker and Reed prepare to rush in to help "The Visionary", but Paul stops them. A knocked-out Rollins rolls out of the ring to the floor. Meanwhile, a determined Cody waits in the center of the ring. And that’s how this week’s episode comes to a close.
