WWE will have to make a decision about the future of the World Heavyweight Championship after Seth Rollins suffered an unfortunate injury at Crown Jewel, which will require him to undergo surgery. It is estimated that "The Visionary" will not be able to return to action until after WrestleMania 42, which will cause an imminent change of plans.

In fact, last week Rollins was betrayed by his "The Vision" teammates in what could be the storyline excuse to justify his absence from the company's television programming in the coming months. So, the question is, what will happen now with the World Championship?

It is expected that tonight we will have an answer to this in WWE Raw. Meanwhile, the specialized media outlet Fightful has been able to learn some interesting details about this case, including WWE's current plan to determine a second challenger before Saturday Night's Main Event.

"Seth Rollins suffered an injury, which will likely force him to vacate the world title on tonight's episode of WWE Raw. So far, he has not been seen on the show. Today on WWE Raw, there was talk of holding a battle royal for the winner to enter the World Heavyweight Championship contention. That was the working plan until this afternoon," the outlet wrote.

"CM Punk is already in line to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship, probably at the Saturday Night's Main Event event. It has not been confirmed to happen, but it is likely that the battle royal winner will face Punk for the title," the report concluded.

In light of this information, and considering the Raw lineup, it seems unlikely that the battle royal -if WWE ultimately chooses this route- will take place on tonight's red brand show. It is worth noting that Saturday Night's Main Event will take place on Saturday, November 1, where CM Punk could face off one-on-one against the battle royal winner with the top prize at stake.
