John Cena enjoyed one of the best nights of his retirement tour in Boston. Last night was his second-to-last appearance on a weekly WWE Raw show, and the last time he would share a moment with friends, acquaintances, and family in his home state of Massachusetts. And, truth be told, the night couldn't have been more complete and unforgettable for "The Greatest of All Time".

In a memorable first hour, Cena was not only introduced by a heavyweight of the company like Triple H, but he also had the opportunity to make history in front of a crowd completely devoted to "The Greatest of All Time". All thanks to the interruption by Dominik Mysterio, which led to an unscheduled match for the Intercontinental Championship, the only title Cena had not conquered in his career.

The result couldn't have been more cathartic, with John overcoming all of Mysterio's traps to ultimately defeat him cleanly, thus winning the championship and becoming a WWE Grand Slam Champion. After the match, Cena took a microphone to thank the Boston fans, attributing his victory to them. Today, he wanted to reiterate his gratitude with a message on his social media.

"Thank you, Boston. It meant a lot to be able, for the last time, to do what I love in a place I love, surrounded by the people I love. Our performances only make sense if YOU, the audience, believe in us and decide they do," Cena wrote.

"The smile on my face and the wonder in my eyes in this short clip are a sincere display of grateful disbelief and appreciation for everything you have ever invested in me. Yesterday's night meant more than I could ever express. Thank you, Boston," he concluded.

John Cena will make a new appearance in the next episode of WWE Raw, which will take place at the iconic Madison Square Garden. This will be his last participation in a weekly company show. After that, John is scheduled to compete in Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29 and in Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, an event in which he will have his final professional career match against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
