The conversation about how much an NXT wrestler really earns has reignited, especially after the statements of several released talents. However, a new report has provided context to a discussion that, according to several voices, was not reflecting the complete reality of the WWE development system.

In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez wanted to debunk the idea that NXT wrestlers are poorly paid. The journalist pointed out that, far from the figures that have been circulating these days, development contracts have a much higher starting point than had been suggested.

Confirmed contracts in NXT start at $75,000. And of course, names coming from outside with some renown earn more. No one is earning $30,000 a year.

The $30,000 figure emerged after Priscilla Kelly, known in WWE as Gigi Dolin, explained in an interview that some roster members had very low contracts. Also after Jazmyn Nyx left the company last month, despite receiving a renewal offer. In Dolin's case, the wrestler argued that the public perception is often completely detached from the economic reality of talent in development and that not everyone in NXT lives luxuriously or with high salaries.

However, according to the latest information, that figure would actually correspond to a different group: the so-called ID talent. These are individuals who work at the Performance Center without an official contract with TKO. They are not considered part of the roster, but rather aspirants in the training process who receive symbolic payments aimed at improving their physique, image, and preparation.

Alvarez specified that this group "earns much less than $30,000", but emphasized that they are not under contract or economically treated as WWE employees, which helps explain the confusion generated during the last few days.
