The CW and Netflix will air a new episode of WWE NXT tonight, with Vic Joseph and Booker T at the commentary table, live from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This will be the first show of the brand after Deadline, and will feature some of its stars, some of whom will be part of the Saturday Night's Main Event card.
One highlight is a match between Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace, who will finally settle their differences in a one-on-one in the ring. Additionally, Blake Monroe will issue an open challenge for the NXT Women's North American Championship. As always, we invite you to comment on the article to give your opinion on what happened on the show.
WWE NXT starts on Netflix!
The show begins with a video recap of NXT Deadline.
Oba Femi is the one to open the program. The new NXT Champion heads to the ring as fans chant his name. "The Ruler" takes a microphone. "Power. True power does not yield. It does not break. It does not beg. It stands tall and watches the world spin around it. This is true power. Two-time NXT Champion. This is true power!" exclaims Femi.
Oba points out that the stars aligned for Ricky Saints to fulfill his promise of taking the gold at No Mercy. And, for a moment, "The Absolute" managed to dethrone "The Ruler." However, now everything has returned to normal. The Nigerian notes that his story with Saints is in the past, allowing him to look towards the future. And that future will take place at Saturday Night's Main Event when he faces Cody Rhodes. "I will be in the ring facing Cody Rhodes. He will look into my eyes and see potential. He won't see the future. He'll see the now! He'll see the Inevitable! The Ruler, The Destroyer, The Bringer of War, in all my glory! OBA FEMI!", he exclaims. The Nigerian changes the subject, pointing out that it's time to talk about the end of the show, but...
Ricky Saints interrupts the promo
Saints heads to the ring to be the first to congratulate him on his victory at Deadline. Ricky acknowledges that Oba was better than him that night. That's why he shook his hand as a sign of respect. Ricky admits that that night he thought a lot about what had happened, recognizing that "The Absolute Era" has proven to be effective. And seeing Femi with the championship in his possession, he believed there was no way he could recover it. "But then I remembered who the hell I am! I am The Absolute Ricky Saints! And if you think I'm going to bow my head and quietly go to the end of the line, then you're in for a surprise," says Saints before informing him that he is coming for his championship. Ricky reminds the Nigerian that they are tied at one. Saints granted Oba a title rematch when he requested it. So now he wants the Nigerian to do the same for him.
Je'Von Evans enters the scene
Je'Von assures that his intention was not to interrupt, but he couldn't help it. Evans reminds them both that he won the Iron Survivor Challenge and, with it, a title shot at NXT New Year's Evil. However, he doesn't want to wait until January. He is more than ready right now and won't let anyone tell him when he should fight for the gold. That said, he proposes to Femi to advance their title match, tonight!
Saints asks Evans why he is in such a hurry. Ricky suggests he wait a bit. "If I get my rematch, it could be you and me for the title, and that's a much better play than anything else this is," "The Absolute" suggests. He reminds Je'Von that he has been with him since he arrived at NXT and will accept any decision he makes regarding the issue that brought them here. But he wants to make sure Evans is sure about this.
Je'Von is tired of hearing that he is the future. "Je'Von Evans is the now. And I don't need the stars to align for me. I align them myself," he says. Evans doesn't want to come off as arrogant, but he points out that at just 21 years old, he has already competed for WWE, AAA, and TNA. Now he has a goal, which is none other than the NXT Championship. And if he has to bet on someone tonight, he would bet everything on himself.
"Alright, damn it! I'm with you! This is your moment tonight!", exclaims Saints as he high-fives Je'Von. Oba chides them both for asking for opportunities when they don't even have a championship in their possession. Ricky interrupts him to ask if he is really rejecting the challenge from the Iron Survivor Challenge winner. "No, no, no, no. Seems like he's scared to death. You know for a fact a young OG has you figured out," says Je'Von. Oba approaches Evans to make it clear that he doesn't fear him. In fact, every time they have faced off, the Nigerian has beaten him. "I've always beaten you. And it won't be different tonight. So, you know what? Let's play!", exclaims Femi to accept Je'Von's challenge. Both men face off - with Saints in the middle - as the segment comes to an end.
We see a video recap of the rivalry between Jordynne Grace and Kelani Jordan that has been going on for weeks.
Tatum Paxley delivers a backstage promo directed at Izzi Dame. "Izzi, you said you would put an end to this pathetic and hopeless version of yourself that refused to evolve. You know what? You did. She's gone. And I have nothing to lose... but you do," says Paxley before showing two dolls representing Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. "You stabbed me in the back. You tore my heart from my mind for not playing your way. Well, now WE are going to play my game. One by one, two will go (drops the Spears doll), and then it will just be you and me, Izzi. Alone. Together," says Paxley before leaving. Jordynne Grace vs. Kelani Jordan
Jordan exits the ring to go after Jordynne as she makes her entrance. Both start the fight at ringside, where Grace takes down her opponent with a clothesline. "The Juggernaut" brings Kelani into the ring, where the referee rings the bell. Jordynne delivers several powerslams on Jordan before covering her. 1..2..NO. Kelani slaps her opponent before taking refuge in one of the corners. Grace continues punishing her rival in that same corner.
Jordan dodges a Vader Bomb to retaliate with fury. Kelani kicks Jordynne in the ropes area. The action moves to the apron. Jordan blocks a German suplex before attempting a Spanish fly. Jordynne holds onto the ropes to avoid it. Now it's Jordan who blocks an Alabama Slam to go for a sunset flip powerbomb. Jordynne blocks it. Kelani then opts to grab her opponent's legs, causing her knees to hit the apron.
Jordan focuses her attack on Grace's left knee, injured in the previous move. Kelani uses one of the posts to inflict more damage to "The Juggernaut's" legs. Jordan tries to trap Grace in a submission hold, but her rival gets rid of her with a suplex. Kelani places Jordynne face down in one of the corners. Jordan unleashes a flurry of attacks on her rival before climbing to the top turnbuckle. However, Grace catches her to slam her to the mat.
Jordynne traps Jordan's right leg in a painful submission hold. Kelani tries to free herself, a moment Jordynne takes advantage of to execute a modified suplex. Jordan seeks refuge at ringside. "The Juggernaut" goes after her, only to be surprised with a chop block. Jordan throws her against the metal stairs before grabbing a chair. Jordynne dodges a chair shot, causing her attacker to hurt her hands with the impact.
Grace brings her back into the ring to execute a spinebuster. 1..2..NO. Jordynne hits Jordan against one of the corners before taking her down with several clotheslines. Grace performs a German suplex hold. 1..2..NO. The action moves once again to ringside. Both women struggle. Jordynne hits Jordan against the metal stairs before applying a Vader Bomb. Both end up lying on the ground. "This is amazing!" chant the fans.
Grace picks up the metal chair from the ground, ready to use it against her opponent. However, the referee quickly takes it away. Jordan takes advantage of "The Juggernaut's" distraction to kick her. Grace falls against the barricade, which ends up destroyed. Jordan brings her back into the ring to finish her off with a 450 Splash. 1..2..3.
Winner: Kelani Jordan
Blake Monroe leaves the makeup area to head to the ring, where she will issue her first open challenge for the NXT Women's North American Championship.
We see Jordynne Grace lamenting her defeat tonight as the NXT women's locker room prepares to respond to Monroe's challenge. Thea Hail appears on the scene to encourage Grace. Hail tells her not to doubt herself. It's time to believe in herself, especially after everything she has done to get here. "Because you are Jordynne Grace. Don't doubt yourself", says Thea. Grace can't believe she's getting advice from a 16-year-old girl. "I'm actually 22, but I've been here since I was 18, so some would say I'm quite the veteran," says Hail before realizing that the rest of the women have already left. Thea leaves the locker room, wishing Jordynne luck. "I hope to see you soon as a champion," she says as she runs off towards the ring.
Blake Monroe makes her entrance in the ring, where she requests a microphone. "As your NXT Women's North American Champion, I know how the women in that locker room idolize me and see me as a role model. And with the holidays approaching, I'm in a generous mood, eager to bless the less fortunate, to give them something back. After all, who doesn't want some glamour in their lives? So, as the fierce competitor that I am, I have decided to host an open challenge. And, of course, Ava agreed. Without further ado, let's see who the lucky girl is who gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," says "The Glamour" to introduce the open challenge.
Almost a dozen women appear on stage (including Lola Vice, Arianna Grace, Karmen Petrovic, Chantel Monroe, Kali Armstrong, and Nikkita Lyons). Several referees try to stop them. Monroe starts to get nervous, asking them to let only one of them enter the ring. However, they all want to be that woman. "One by one. I can't fight them all," says Blake. "Ava, Ava! AVA!" she shouts in distress. Suddenly, Thea Hail appears out of nowhere to pounce on Monroe, applying a Kimura Lock on the champion. The British wrestler taps out for Thea to release her. Blake quickly escapes to ringside, where she is surrounded by the rest of the women. Thus, we reach the end of this brief segment without the open challenge being able to start.
Kelly Kincaid interviews Shiloh Hill backstage. Hill admits to being excited for her debut tonight. "I have all this energy and I'm ready to unleash it on that big mouth Lexis King. It's time to show the world why no one falls asleep when they see Shiloh Hill," she says. Hill puts on her mouthguard before heading to the ring.
Shiloh Hill vs. Lexis King
Lexis tries to surprise Shiloh from behind, but her opponent quickly dodges to make him fall out of the ring. Hill hits King at ringside before bringing him back into the ring. The referee rings the bell. Shiloh dominates the match, but his opponent makes him stumble against the corner to take the lead. Lexis continues to attack Hill, even taking his time to taunt him.
A double clothesline leaves both men lying on the mat. Shiloh removes his mouthguard to hand it to the referee. After that, he unleashes a quick offensive on Lexis, knocking him down with a flying shoulder tackle. King surprises his rival with a precise superkick. Far from affecting Hill, he asks him to keep attacking him. Lexis tries to continue his offense, but Shiloh finishes him off with a spinning neckbreaker. 1..2..3.
Winner: Shiloh Hill
Kelly Kincaid interviews Oba Femi backstage. "The Ruler" recalls that he is a champion, and as such, he must expect the unexpected, just as it happened tonight. However, he is not concerned in the least, because when surprises collide with his dominance, the result is always the same: the crown remains on his head. He just hopes that Cody Rhodes can see him tonight to understand what awaits him next Saturday when he goes to his territory. "Who will pick you up when I leave you lying on the ground? That's what awaits you. It's what awaits Je'Von Evans. I'm going to destroy the Iron Survivor, and on Saturday, I'll destroy The American Nightmare," says a confident Femi before leaving.
Ethan Page makes his entrance. The double NXT and AAA champion heads to the ring. "All Ego" points out that he came to NXT to "drink from the fountain of youth and absorb as much knowledge as possible." However, he soon realized that he was the only one asking the questions that no one had the courage to ask. "While athletes were asking how to execute the best dropkick, I was asking how to break those guys' jaws. And when no one gave me the answer I was looking for, I did it their way, old-school style. Trial and error, using the bodies of those this company calls professional wrestlers," says "All Ego." Wrestlers who seem more concerned about their social media and taking a picture with the wrestlers they idolized as children. That's why those athletes are in the locker room watching as he holds the NXT North American Championship.
Ethan remembers that next Saturday John Cena will retire, leaving a void that he will fill. Page recalls that he won the NXT Championship in record time. And when he couldn't find a way to regain it, he set his sights on the North American title, which he has turned into the most sought-after belt and, therefore, the most prestigious in NXT. Ethan doesn't need to convince anyone of his words, as his actions speak for themselves. Several companies have sent their best talents in search of this championship, but they have failed. And although he deserved a break after so much work, he decided to keep going, not only defending the title but also conquering a new belt: the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship. And that makes him a unique talent in WWE. "Friends, there are three days that are the most important for everyone in the world. The day you were born, the day you leave, and the day you realize that Ethan Page is the biggest superstar WWE has to offer!", exclaims "All Ego". "And from now on, under my supervision, NXT is going to be just fine," he adds.
Suddenly, the lights in the arena go out. We see on screen the same video that preceded Tony D'Angelo's arrival at NXT Deadline. D'Angelo appears behind "All Ego" to execute a spinebuster on the NXT North American Champion. Tony stands over his victim with a vacant look. Thus, we reach the end of this segment.
Ava meets with Myles Borne, Joe Hendry, Leon Slater and Dion Lennox in her office. Ava has gathered them to inform them of a change of plans. Since Je'Von Evans will cash in his title opportunity tonight, a new challenger for the NXT Championship is needed at New Year's Evil. That is why the four of them will compete next week in a fatal four-way match with that opportunity on the line. An enraged Ethan Page bursts into the office to angrily complain about the attack he suffered a few minutes ago at the hands of Tony D'Angelo. Ava points out that she hasn’t seen the former NXT Don in months. “Ethan, behind you!”, exclaims Myles to scare “All Ego.” Dion laughs. Myles tries to high-five Lennox, but he refuses. “So funny. This guy makes jokes. Amazing,” says an annoyed Page before leaving. This brings us to the end of this segment.
Sol Ruca vs. Wren Sinclair (with Kendal Grey)
Sinclair and Ruca grapple as they test their strength in the opening phase of the match. Sol ends the phase with a faceplant. Ruca gets distracted by Zaria’s presence in the crowd. Wren and Sol trade roll-ups. Sinclair kicks Ruca to knock her down before focusing her punishment on her opponent’s recently injured knee.
Sol breaks free to unleash a counteroffensive. Ruca surprises Wren with a diving dropkick. Sinclair fires back with a flurry of chops before delivering a double underhook suplex. Ruca quickly recovers, hitting a variant of a backstabber on her opponent before finishing her with the Sol Snatcher. 1..2..3
Winner: Sol Ruca
Sol celebrates on the ropes. Zaria teases entering the ring but ultimately decides to return backstage. Ruca jumps the barricade to go after her. Meanwhile, Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley) make their entrance.
Jacy goes straight to Kendal Grey, pointing out that the Iron Survivor is living in a fairy tale. Jayne knows the fans are on her side. However, she regrets to inform her that reality will hit her hard in the face because her fifteen minutes of fame are about to end. And when that happens, the fans will simply forget about her and look for another woman to support. “You may have that WWE Evolve Women’s Championship on your shoulder, but carrying this championship, this prestigious title, is a completely different level,” says Jacy while pointing to her NXT Women’s Championship. Jayne recalls her great 2025, listing all her accomplishments. She has gone from being an underrated woman to becoming the most dominant in the division. In addition, she made history as the first woman to hold both the NXT Championship and the TNA Knockouts World Championship at the same time. “Everyone has realized this year what I’ve known for a long time, and that is that I am a rock star in this ring. I am the foundation, the glue that holds this place together. So, in what world do you think I’m going to lose to a passing trend? That I’ll let a ponytail-wearing Kurt Angle knockoff steal my thunder, my spotlight? Kendal, honey, rookie. You don’t have the slightest chance of beating me. Loser,” Jayne says with a laugh.
Kendal acknowledges that she has a lot to learn. But it’s also true that no one expected her to win the Iron Survivor Challenge. And she did. No one expects her to beat Jacy at New Year’s Evil either. However, no one imagined Jacy would beat Stephanie Vaquer. Now we’re in a situation where Grey is the underdog. And she likes it, because wrestling is full of surprises. “If you want to treat our match at New Year’s Evil like a joke, go ahead. You know what the best part of being the underdog is? Seeing the look on people’s faces when the underdog bites them in the butt,” says Kendal.
Jacy jokes with her partners, pointing out that Grey thinks she has the right to deal with one of the most dominant factions in NXT just because she won a match. Wren Sinclair interrupts her. Sinclair knows WrenQCC only has one championship to their name. But once Kendal defeats Jayne, they’ll have two. Meanwhile, Fatal Influence will be left with only one… or maybe not. Maybe Sinclair could go after Fallon’s WWE Speed Women’s Championship. Lainey Reid reminds Wren that having matching gear with Grey doesn’t make them a better team than Fatal Influence. And they have no problem proving it. Henley speaks up. “Don’t worry, Jacy. We’ll leave just enough for you to remind this rookie what her place is,” says Fallon before landing a right hand on Kendal. Henley and Reid attack Grey and Sinclair. Jayne joins her partners to stomp the WWE Evolve Champion. Wren tries to rescue her partner but ends up being knocked out by a superkick from Lainey. Reid and Henley continue stomping Kendal and Wren while a smiling Jayne watches. The segment ends with Fatal Influence posing over their victims.
Kelly Kincaid interviews Hank Walker and Tank Ledger backstage. Hank and Tank recap their stay in NOAH, describing it as a very enriching experience. OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) interrupt the interview. Hank and Tank assure them they haven’t forgotten the attack they suffered at their hands before their trip to Japan. Nima and Price joke that they were smart to run away from them. Tank and Hank then propose a match for next week. OTM accept without hesitation. This brings us to the end of this segment.
Blake Monroe enters Ava’s office. “Ava, Ava, we need to talk,” says a distraught Blake. Ava asks her how the open challenge went. “How it went? It didn’t go, thanks to you,” replies the Brit. Ava reminds her that she already warned her it wasn’t a good idea. Monroe, however, insists that the General Manager was responsible for what happened. “I told you I would be a glamorous champion, but you took it too far. It was like I was a piece of meat in shark-infested waters,” says “The Glamour.” She wonders how many women were out there, including that little blonde banshee Thea Hail. In any case, open challenges are done. Ava agrees. Monroe thanks her but also expects an apology. Ava won’t apologize for something she didn’t do, nor for booking her a title match next week against that little blonde banshee. “You’ve got some nerve,” says an annoyed Blake before leaving.
Sol Ruca goes looking for Zaria, who is walking through the parking lot ready to leave the venue. Zaria admits they still haven’t been able to talk, but tonight she just wanted to be there to support her. “That means a lot to me,” says Sol. “Well, you’re welcome. Good luck against Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event,” says Zaria before leaving… but Ruca grabs her arm to stop her. Sol asks her to accompany her on Saturday. “Really?”, asks Zaria. Ruca and Zaria stutter until they finally decide to apologize to each other. They hug to make peace. Sol points out that friends fight. It’s normal. “I… I’ve never had a friend like you before,” says Zaria. “I’ve never had a friend like you before either,” replies Ruca. “Let’s go get some sweets,” she adds before leaving. Zaria smiles, relieved that everything ended well.
We see a brief video showing Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo’s victory at TNA Final Resolution to win the promotion’s International Championship.

Femi manages to return, only for Evans to land on his back with a Frog Splash! Je'Von hits a second Frog Splash, this time on the champion’s torso. 1..2..NO. “This is awesome!” chant the fans.
Evans surprises Oba with an enzuigiri. As a result, Femi ends up at ringside. Je'Von dives onto him with a tope. The challenger brings “The Ruler” back into the ring. Once there, he seeks height to dive onto his opponent, but Oba greets him with a right hand. Oba crushes Evans in one of the turnbuckles. Je'Von responds with a german suplex. Winner and STILL NXT Champion: Oba Femi
Femi grabs his championship and exits the ring, where Ricky is waiting. The two men exchange looks. The Nigerian heads backstage while Saints watches a hurting Evans, who can barely stand. This brings us to the end of this week’s episode of NXT.
