Today we will once again enjoy a new live coverage of WWE SmackDown, which this time will be broadcasted on tape delay from the GIANT Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This will be the company's first show after Saturday Night's Main Event and will feature several matches and segments of interest, highlighting a Tag Team Championship defense that will see The Wyatt Sicks face off against The MFT.
Additionally, Cody Rhodes will carry out a new promo directed at Drew McIntyre, with whom he maintains an intense rivalry. On the other hand, The Kabuki Warriors will face two potential challengers for their tag team championships, while Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes will join forces against #DIY. As always, we invite you to comment on the post to give your opinion on what happens on this week's blue brand show.
WWE SmackDown starts on Netflix!
The show begins with a video recap of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: Cody Rhodes and MFT in full force.
Damian Priest is the one to open tonight's episode. The Puerto Rican is welcomed with applause. Damian heads to the ring, where he asks for a microphone. Priest recalls that last Saturday everyone shared an emotional moment when John Cena said goodbye to the business. Damian remembers that the seventeen-time world champion has been an inspiration to many. Priest wants to address the man many -including himself- consider the greatest of all time. "We say, 'Thank you Cena'", he says. "¡Thank you Cena!", the fans repeat. That said, Damian recalls what happened last week when he and Rhea Ripley defeated Aleister Black and Zelina in this same ring. A victory that allows him to turn the page, so now he is ready to look forward and see what awaits him in 2026. However...
Zelina interrupts the promo.
"You are a hypocrite. Do you really think bringing your Mommy to fight your battles makes you a real man?", Zelina asks before reminding him that he did not pin Aleister for the victory. "Do you call that salvation? You simply can't face the fact that Aleister broke you. You made your decision, and now you'll have to live with ours. Or rather, with his", says Zelina before turning towards the entrance. Aleister Black's theme music begins to play. Damian prepares for the Dutchman's arrival, but he surprises him from behind!
Black and Priest exchange attacks in the ring. Damian takes the lead to control the fight. Aleister recovers to launch a knee strike. As a result, Damian falls to ringside. Black jumps on him, but his enemy catches him in mid-air to execute a chokeslam on the apron. Priest pulls out a table from under the ring ignoring Zelina, who orders him to stop. At that moment, Black attacks Damian from behind with a metal chair.
Priest stops the Dutchman's assault, but he manages to throw the Puerto Rican against one of the posts. After that, he places him on the table. Black climbs to the apron, ready to finish off his enemy. ¡Aleister jumps with a diving meteora that hits Priest head-on, shattering the table in the process! Black hurts his right knee, but his goal is accomplished. Zelina assists her husband while several officials come to attend to Damian. The heels retreat backstage amid loud boos.
Byron Saxton interviews Lash Legend and Nia Jax backstage. Saxton congratulates Lash on her "surprising" victory over Alexa Bliss last week. Annoyed, Nia rebukes Byron, making it clear that victory was not surprising at all. "Exactly. No matter how great little Lexi is. She didn't stand a chance against me", says Legend as she boasts of having kicked her butt with ease. Lash points out that with that victory, they can now leave Charlotte Flair and Alexa in the past. Nia adds that once they defeat The Kabuki Warriors, they can continue on their path, which will lead them directly to an opportunity for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. Byron reminds them that Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY have a shot at those titles next week, so they could face them for the gold. "No matter who suddenly wants to become best friends, those tag titles are ours", says Jax. Lash advises Saxton to forget about the rest of the teams because now everything revolves around "The Irresistible Force" and "The Boujee Bully," who are coming for those titles. Lash and Nia snap their fingers in front of Saxton's face before leaving.
We see a pained Damian Priest accompanied by several officials, who help him move backstage. Suddenly, Aleister Black attacks him from behind! The Dutchman scares off the officials, who are unable to stop him. Black grabs a shovel to hit his enemy, whom he finishes off with a Black Mass. Priest remains motionless, leaning against a shutter, while his assailant leaves satisfied. The officials come once again to help the Puerto Rican as the segment comes to an end.

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) vs. Lash Legend and Nia Jax
Kairi and Legend start the fight. Lash catches the Japanese woman to throw her aside with ease. Kairi jumps against her opponent's back, but she quickly gets rid of her. Sane is about to continue her offensive, but Lash stops her with a flying European uppercut.

Kairi seeks height to jump on both women with an Insane Elbow. Sane celebrates energetically in front of the camera as we reach a commercial break. During it, Nia and Lash regain control when the latter knocks down "The Pirate Princess" with a big boot.
Back to see Nia crushing Kairi with her leg in one of the corners. The referee orders her to stop. Legend receives the tag to continue hitting Kairi. She tries to counterattack, but her opponent knocks her down with a right hand. Lash catches Sane in a headlock. Nia receives the tag. Jax hits Asuka in her corner before joining Lash. Both try to perform a double suplex, but Sane reverses it into a double DDT. "The Pirate Princess" crawls to her corner to tag in Asuka. "The Empress of Tomorrow" jumps on her rivals with a double diving dropkick.
Asuka crushes Nia in her own corner. Legend tries to intervene, but Asuka dodges her, causing the former to also crush Jax. Asuka kicks Lash and Nia. Asuka unleashes a flurry of attacks on Jax before taking her down to the mat. The Japanese woman tries to catch her in an armbar. Nia prevents it while standing up to look for a powerbomb. Asuka escapes her clutches. Jax tries to crush her with a back senton, but the Japanese woman dodges it to respond with a direct kick to the face. 1..2..NO. Legend interrupts the count.
Kairi hits Lash, but she responds with a tremendous right hand. Asuka gets her revenge by kicking the "Boujee Bully." Nia charges at Asuka, but she dodges her, causing her rival to hit one of the posts. Asuka seeks height. Legend tries to prevent it, but Kairi doesn't allow it. Asuka manages to execute a powerbomb on Nia with Sane's help. Asuka tries to cover her, but Lash grabs her legs to pull her out of the ring.
Legend throws Asuka against the metal stairs. Kairi doesn't take long to jump on Lash with a Diving Forearm. Sane returns to the ring to jump with an Insane Elbow on Nia. However, she stops her in mid-air to respond with a chokeslam. After that, she drags her to the opposite corner to finish her off with an Annihilator. 1..2..3.
Winners: Nia Jax and Lash Legend
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss burst onto the scene to attack Lash and Nia! The former champions team up to get rid of Nia, who ends up at ringside. Alexa is about to finish off Legend with her Twisted Bliss, but Jax rescues her partner just in time. Charlotte and Alexa pose with the tag team titles as Nia and Legend retreat up the entrance ramp. This is how we reach the end of this segment.
Jackie Redmond interviews Giulia in the women's locker room, after asking for permission from her representative, Kiana James. Redmond reminds the Italo-Japanese that Chelsea Green is making things difficult for her in her quest to regain the United States Women's Championship. Giulia is aware of this, as evidenced by the fact that the Canadian is hiding behind Alba Fyre. However, she has no problem taking down the Scotswoman to get to Green. "Chelsea, your time is running out. Arrivederci", says "The Beautiful Madness" before leaving.
We see a video recorded earlier in the week, with Nick Aldis visiting Drew McIntyre at the Scotsman's home to discuss his return to SmackDown. Seated around a table, Nick presents his offer and conditions: Drew will be able to return to the blue brand, where he will have a guaranteed shot at the WWE Undisputed Championship. In exchange, and in order to convince the management that he has changed, McIntyre will have to apologize to the referee he attacked a few weeks ago, as well as pay a fine. However, with the money he earned in WarGames, he will have no problem covering it.
Drew reviews Aldis' offer. "¿Will I have my WWE Championship match?", asks the Scotsman. "Yes," Nick replies. "That which I desire more than anything else. I have no other choice... No," Drew responds to reject the offer. "Of course not. No way. This is what Cody wants," says McIntyre, convinced that this is another trick to mess with him again. And that's something that won't happen.
Instead, McIntyre puts a counteroffer on the table: if he returns, he will have his title match, but he will choose the stipulation. Nick accepts. Drew also asks him to return to WWE's offices in Stamford to meet with the company's legal team and draft an official document that prevents Rhodes from laying a hand on him before the match. Otherwise, he will lose the championship. Aldis accepts the Scotsman's conditions. Both shake hands to end the negotiation. A smiling Drew asks the General Manager how soon the documents can be ready. Nick replies that they could be ready by the end of the day. "Fantastic," says McIntyre as he receives an alert on his phone.
Drew looks at the screen to see what's happening. "Oh, come on. You're kidding," says the Scotsman. He shows the phone to the General Manager, who can see Cody being held back by two police officers at McIntyre's house entrance. He accuses Nick of setting him up. Aldis assures him that he had nothing to do with it. "You brought him to my house, where my family sleeps!", exclaims the Scotsman. Nick insists that he knew nothing about it. "Take care of this or I will!", Drew shouts. Aldis heads towards the entrance.
Nick leaves the house to demand an explanation from Cody. "Why are you here? You're ruining everything!", exclaims the General Manager. Drew soon appears on the scene. "You really show up on my damn property?!", shouts the Scotsman. Cody escapes the four agents who were blocking his way to launch himself at Drew. With great difficulty, the agents manage to separate them. "You're finished Rhodes!", shouts McIntyre. "He wanted this! He wanted it!", exclaims Cody. "Merry Christmas, asshole!", he adds. "You're going to end up in jail!", responds Drew. Both men continue to threaten each other as the agents immobilize them.
Byron Saxton interviews Nick Aldis backstage. The General Manager cannot hide his displeasure at this situation. On one hand, SmackDown is still without one of its top superstars (Drew McIntyre). On the other hand, what happened at the Scotsman's house is beyond his jurisdiction, as it did not occur at a WWE show. That's why he now depends on local authorities.
The Miz interrupts the interview to remind the General Manager that "he" ruined his moment at Saturday Night's Main Event. Nick asks if he is referring to Carmelo Hayes (HIM). The Miz replies that no, although Melo is someone he still has to deal with. Aldis was just joking. He knows he means Joe H... "NO!", exclaims The Miz. "Don't say his name. Are you crazy?". And yes, he wants a match against him on SmackDown next week. Aldis thinks it's a great idea, so he will talk to Ava to organize it. In the meantime, he can say his name. The Miz pretends to smile and turns to leave. However, he meets R-Truth turning around in the pure style of Joe Hendry. "I believe in Joe Pesci. CLAP CLAP," sings R-Truth. The Miz ignores his former partner and leaves the scene. R-Truth addresses Aldis. "Nick, he's just mad because he saw your British balls", he says as the segment comes to an end.
Giulia (with Kiana James) vs. Alba Fyre (with Chelsea Green)
Giulia knocks down Alba to unleash a flurry of attacks on the Scotswoman. Giulia continues with a dropkick. Giulia keeps hitting her rival, whom she corners in one of the corners. Giulia crushes Alba with her knee while taunting Green. Giulia executes a suplex on Fyre. Green distracts Giulia, allowing Alba to surprise the Italo-Japanese. Alba performs a tornado DDT. 1..2..NO.
Giulia recovers to knock down Alba. "The Beautiful Madness" throws Fyre to the side before catching her in a painful submission hold. Both women exchange roll-ups on the mat. Fyre surprises Giulia with a superkick. 1..2..NO. Giulia recovers to execute a G-Trigger on the Scotswoman, whom she finishes off with a Northern Lights Bomb. 1..2..3.
Winner: Giulia
Chelsea shouts at the Italo-Japanese wrestler. "I don’t care who you beat, I’m not giving you a title opportunity!" she exclaims. Green raises her two championships. "You will NEVER take this title from me! It’s MY title! Never!" shouts the Canadian. “The Beautiful Madness” feigns leaving the ring, causing Green to fall flat on her backside. Chelsea carefully backs her way toward backstage to bring this segment to an end.
The Wyatt Sicks air a video promo. Uncle Howdy addresses Solo Sikoa directly. "Listen closely, Solo. Your greed for status and power has led you down a dark path. The truth lies beneath the surface. This image you project will catapult your family into a whole new world. A world filled with adversity and abandonment. There will be nowhere you can escape. Solo, tonight your journey begins. A journey that will force you and your family to surrender," says Howdy before laughing.
Cody Rhodes makes his entrance. The fans greet him with a huge ovation. "Cody, Cody!" the crowd chants. "Hershey, PA, what do you want to talk about?" Rhodes asks to kick off his promo. Cody admits that he went to Drew McIntyre’s house and that things got out of control, with the police even getting involved. Meanwhile, the Scot continues to claim that WWE is an unsafe workplace. "Drew, you’re surrounded by former MMA fighters, second-generation wrestlers, college athletes, and NIL athletes. What is a safe workplace to you? Staples? Also, that little scuffle in the yard isn’t even ten percent of what could happen right here and now, with me and Drew McIntyre in this ring!" he exclaims.
Nick Aldis interrupts the promo.
Aldis doesn’t know if Cody is aware of the trouble he’s in, because McIntyre keeps insisting that this is an unsafe workplace. They both know that isn’t true, but when Rhodes went to his house to attack him, he only proved him right. "And to make matters worse, I had to shut down a bad deal because you made me look like a liar", says Nick as he enters the ring. Aldis tells him he should have trusted him to handle the situation. Now Drew has the upper hand. Once he returns, Cody won’t be able to lay a finger on him, or he’ll be forced to strip him of the WWE Championship.
Rhodes assures him he won’t touch the Scot. However, he believes Nick has forgotten who he’s talking to. "You should say my name, because you know it. I’m the one who sent the tweet that changed the game. I’m the one who came back here and won not one, but two Royal Rumbles. I’m the reigning King of the Ring. I dethroned The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. And I even defeated The Greatest of All Time, John Cena, for this title. I am QB1 (the number one quarterback), damn it! And you come out here to tell me I’m not above the law? As long as I hold this title, I AM THE LAW!" he exclaims. "Mr. Aldis, my friend. Remember one thing. As long as I have this title, I don’t work for you, I work for them," he says while pointing to the fans. "And you, my friend, you work for me", Rhodes adds before throwing the mic to the mat. Cody leaves the ring to pose while leaning on the crowd barricade. Aldis remains silent in the center of the ring. And with that, this segment comes to an end.
Ilja Dragunov approaches Carmelo Hayes backstage. The Russian points out that he’s usually the one helping others. Also, since becoming United States Champion, people come to him. That’s why he wants to thank Carmelo for helping him last week. Meanwhile, we see Tama Tonga watching the scene in the background. Carmelo doesn’t need Ilja to thank him. Tommaso Ciampa was the one responsible for him not winning the title, so he had to get his revenge. As for Johnny Gargano, he was collateral damage. Besides, attacking people from behind is something he doesn’t do anymore. "Listen, tonight we face #DIY in the ring. And tonight we’re leaving them laid out on the mat", says the champion. Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) appear on the scene. Axiom wishes them luck, but also asks them for a favor: leave a little bit of #DIY for them. "They stole my mask and they have to pay for it", says the Spaniard. "You’re talking to the wrong two guys. We watch our own backs and we don’t fail," says Carmelo. "Well, if you do fail, we’ll be right here," Frazer replies. "Alright, listen, gentlemen. #DIY wanted this fight. And if they ask for a fight, they’ll get a fight. Especially after last week, when Ciampa made me bleed. He’s no longer just an asshole, now he’s MY PREY," says Dragunov before leaving with Hayes. "What did he mean by that?" Nathan asks. "Don’t worry about it," Axiom responds.

Jackie Redmond interviews Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair backstage, asking what message they were trying to send with their attack on Nia Jax and Lash Legend. "The message is that if you look too far into the future, you end up forgetting who’s right in front of you", Bliss replies. She reminds everyone that IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley have a title opportunity on January 5, and that Lash and Nia think they’re next in line. "But they’re not. They’re in our way," says Flair. Alexa finishes by making it clear that whoever holds the championships, they’ll be waiting for them. Redmond thanks them for their time and quickly steps aside. Alexa and Charlotte soon discover the reason when they run into Jade Cargill standing nearby. Bliss and Flair leave without saying a word. Redmond approaches to interview the WWE Women’s Champion. Jackie asks about her attack on Michin last week. Cargill admits that Michin surprised her by coming back after being attacked backstage. "I’m feeling very generous right now, so I’m going to give her a little spotlight, and then I’m going to knock her lights out", Jade promises to end the interview. Cargill continues on her way when suddenly Michin appears behind her and strikes her in the back with a kendo stick! "I’m the HBIC (Head Bitch in Charge)! Looks like you forgot! Let me remind you!" shouts Michin as she tries to strike her again. However, several officials and B-Fab stop her just in time and escort her away. "You’re lucky! You’re lucky!" Michin yells as she’s taken away. Cargill remains on the ground, still in pain.
Solo Sikoa cuts a backstage promo directed at Uncle Howdy. "Howdy, you say a lot of nonsense about absolutely nothing. But when you threaten my family, that’s when we have a problem. You think this is a game, huh? When it comes to my family, I don’t play. Do you understand me? We’re going to humiliate you in front of everyone. Wait, do you hear that? Can you hear it? The fireflies are here," says Sikoa as he reaches Gorilla Position, where his men are waiting. "And they’re going to see us take those tag titles from you. Because whether you like it or not, I’ve got the whole world in my hands", Sikoa hums as he heads to the ring with the rest of his family.
