Ricochet became a trending topic yesterday after stating that WWE seriously damages his legacy as a professional wrestler. So much so, that he prefers to forget the five years he spent in the company, pretending they never existed. His statements quickly sparked discussions on social media, with many fans agreeing with the wrestler.
This afternoon, Ricochet reaffirmed these statements, extending them to other talents of the Endeavor-owned company, whose legacies would also have been destroyed by it. "The same happens to Bálor, Shinsuke, Apollo, and many others. WWE destroys legacies and the love for this sport. It's what they do best", he wrote.
However, it didn't end there. A fan lamented that Ricochet felt so hurt by a period in which he didn't do so badly. "I hate that you feel this way, especially considering that I think you did a great job even despite some circumstances," the fan wrote. "I feel that way. And MANY others do too. That company kills the love and you end up just a shadow of what you were, acting mechanically," responded the AEW National Champion.
Ricochet didn't stop there and replied to other users and media outlets that published his statements from yesterday. "People can't handle the truth", he wrote in one of his comments. Another user pointed out that Ricochet didn't complain while WWE was paying his salary. "I tried to leave, but they didn't grant me the release. They didn't want me to go," he replied.
Since joining All Elite Wrestling, Ricochet has been involved in several controversies on social media due to his comments against WWE. This has led him to engage in heated arguments with fans and even with talents from the competition like Je'Von Evans. A new attitude that Ricochet seems to enjoy despite everything. In fact, the wrestler himself recently confessed that he wanted to be the most hated wrestler on the Internet.
