Xavier Woods has been out of active WWE programming for weeks, but the wrestler himself has wanted to reassure fans about his physical condition. Since January, the member of The New Day has been dealing with a shoulder injury that has kept him out of the ring.

During the WWE 2K26 Creator Fest event, Woods provided an update on his recovery in a conversation with WrestleZone. Although he assured that in general terms he feels fine, he acknowledged that the shoulder still does not respond as it should when subjected to effort.

I feel good. Lifting things with the shoulder doesn't feel good. I've put it through a bit of a meat grinder, so we'll see how it evolves. Hopefully it will be a few weeks of physical therapy and we'll be back. And if not, I'll let everyone know. But we are staying positive.

His words reflect caution, but also optimism. Woods is confident that a few additional weeks of physical work will be enough to return to action without major complications.

His last televised match took place on January 26 on Monday Night Raw, in a four-way tag team match where he teamed up with Kofi Kingston. Days later, he also participated in a dark match at the Royal Rumble, but has not competed since then.

On February 16, Kingston and Grayson Waller confirmed on Raw that Woods had been dealing with discomfort for months and needed to take a break to properly recover. Even in his recent brief appearance on the show, Woods showed his usual lighthearted tone by complaining that the night's tribute was dedicated to AJ Styles and not to him.
