AJ Lee lost the Intercontinental Championship to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42 Saturday in what was her last televised appearance in WWE. That same night, during her participation in the Post Show of the grand event, the veteran wrestler bid farewell to the fans with a "see you soon," without offering more clues about her return. One, on the other hand, that not even the company knows for sure, as revealed in a recent report by Wrestlevotes Radio.
"Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that a WWE source says AJ Lee's creative stage at that time is practically finished. There is hope that she will participate in more shows and matches in the future, and within the company there is also some expectation that she may appear at some big events like Summerslam," the outlet wrote.
AJ Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 to directly participate in the rivalry that CM Punk, her real-life husband, was having with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. At that time, WWE confirmed that the wrestler had signed a multi-year deal, which guaranteed an undetermined number of appearances. And, AJ Lee did not return full-time.
The wrestler herself has explained on more than one occasion the mental health issues she went through in her first professional stage, which is why she decided to approach this second run in a different way. In addition to her superstar status, AJ Lee has more interests and projects underway, such as writing books, comics, and TV scripts.
