Bayley and Tatum Paxley are eyeing a potential match at the John Cena Classic

John Cena had a special appearance at WWE Backlash to announce the creation of a special event that will bear his name. The show will follow the tone set by the Saturday Night's Main Event show last December, with exhibition matches pitting NXT talent against main roster wrestlers. Participants will be eligible for a popular vote to decide the tournament champion, regardless of whether they win or lose their matches.

Cena did not offer any further information, but fans are already imagining great matches. A user from X proposed a match between Bayley and Tatum Paxley that generated a lot of attention, even reaching "The Role Model," who expressed support for the idea. "Tatum Paxley, do you think you're ready?", wrote the WWE Grand Slam Champion. The NXT North American Champion wasted no time in responding to Bayley, making it clear that she is ready to fight. "OH, YES I AM," wrote Paxley in capital letters.

Currently, it is unknown when this event will take place and which talents will be part of it. Likewise, the design of the championship that the winner will carry and how it will be defended (if at all) are unknown. It is expected that Cena himself will provide more information in the coming weeks.

Bayley is part of the WWE women's tag team division alongside Lyra Valkyria. Both are determined to win the Women's Tag Team Championships, currently held by Brie Bella and Paige. On the other hand, Paxley holds the NXT Women's North American Championship, a title also coveted by Zaria, Nikkita Lyons, and Lizzy Rain, as seen in the latest weekly episode of the developmental brand.
