Garrett Borden, the eldest son of Sting, made his professional wrestling debut on May 17 at the Final Reckoning event of Rhodes Wrestling Association. In his first match, he defeated Brandon Barretta, using the classic Stinger Splash during the fight, a direct nod to his father's most famous move.
Garrett's debut comes shortly after his younger brother, Steven Borden, debuted in NJPW earlier this year. Both had already begun to take steps in the business after Sting's retirement in 2024, and also participated in tribute moments around the veteran's final match in AEW.
The Borden family remains connected to wrestling from different angles. Garrett's wife also trained at Rhodes Wrestling Academy, where she competes as Jael, and although she is currently on hiatus, she remains involved in community support roles for AEW.
Rhodes Wrestling Academy is led by Dustin Rhodes, maintaining that family and professional connection between several generations of wrestling. With this debut, Garrett officially begins his own path, albeit under a very recognizable shadow: that of Sting.
