Zozaya, now known as Romeo Moreno in NXT, will have his first golden opportunity as a WWE superstar. The Spaniard will be part of the new tournament that will determine the next challenger for the WWE Speed Championship, currently held by Lexis King. This was announced by Robert Stone, General Manager of the brand, through his social media.

Moreno will face Nathan Frazer in the semifinals round. The match will take place on this week's episode of NXT. It is worth mentioning that WWE Speed tournaments feature four participants, so only two victories separate the Spaniard from his first title match in the company owned by Endeavor. The second semifinal will feature Sean Legacy against Dorian Van Dux

Romeo Moreno recently debuted on NXT's television programming as part of the roster renewal following the latest promotions to WWE's main brands. The Spaniard has found inspiration in Noam Dar to take his first steps in the company. Based on what has been seen in recent weeks, the Scotsman could become a mentor for Romeo.

Moreno had his first match on NXT in last week's episode, where he fell to another newcomer, Tristan Angels, in a match well received by fans. With this, Romeo's televised defeats as a WWE talent now total three (two of them in EVOLVE). It remains to be seen if he can break this negative streak against a rival who is very familiar with Spanish wrestlers. This was explained by the Fraxiom member in a recent video posted on his social media.

"Lexis King is out there strutting around, calling himself the fastest man in the world. I find it disrespectful to this business, so I decided to do something about it. I called Shawn Michaels and told him: 'Put me in the next Speed tournament now'. He accepted my request, and it turns out this tournament has an international vibe. In the first round, I will face Romeo Moreno. Turns out he's from Spain, from Madrid, the same place (Axiom) is from. It wouldn't be the first time I defeat a guy from Madrid. Tune in at 8pm on CW Network to watch NXT and see how Nathan Frazer fulfills his destiny becoming the WWE Speed Champion. And always remember: no one is faster than Frazer," he said.
