The charges against Ludwig Kaiser could be dropped

Marcel Barthel, better known as Ludwig Kaiser in WWE (and currently under the mask of El Grande Americano), has been in the spotlight after being arrested for alleged assault just a week ago. The alleged victim claimed that the wrestler had repeatedly hit him for asking him to moderate his manners inside an elevator.

However, another version of the events indicated that Barthel had reacted to a xenophobic comment that affected his partner, Andrea Bazarte. A story that had allegedly been leaked to the media by WWE itself, as revealed in a recent report by Fightful.

"False Finish reported that WWE management is not expected to take disciplinary action against him at this time. In addition, Fightful Select spoke with several sources within the company who believe that the story about Kaiser defending Andrea Bazarte from ICE-related comments was leaked from within WWE. An unknown number contacted several wrestling media members with that version of events, rather than Kaiser, Andrea, or any WWE team member doing so," the outlet wrote.

"Those consulted within WWE also expect the charges to ultimately be dropped, based on the information they have received. According to the sources consulted, Kaiser has no issues or bad reputation within the company, and WWE was informed of the details the same night of the arrest," Fightful wrote.

"Regarding the reaction of other talents, some expressed disbelief at the presented narrative that the situation was 'self-defense,' and pointed out that Kaiser should have simply walked away from the situation. Kaiser is not expected to have trouble traveling to events now that a judge has granted him authorization. WWE also did not expect him to miss his upcoming 'mask vs. mask' match against Original El Grande Americano.

El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano will face off in one of the most anticipated matches of the year this Saturday at AAA Noche de los Grandes. Both talents will compete in one of the most emblematic matches of Mexican wrestling: a "mask vs. mask" match, where the loser will have to show their face to the world. An event where Barthel will arrive as a true idol of the masses to confront one of the most hated villains of the moment.
