In the last few hours, there have been several departures from the TNA Wrestling roster. In addition to the confirmed departure of Tessa Blanchard yesterday, we must now add the departures of Tommy Dreamer and Sami Callihan, two important names in the company's backstage. This afternoon, Anthem Sports has released an official statement to explain this move.
"TNA Wrestling announced today a reduction in staff, aimed at streamlining operations and strengthening strategic focus and profitability. The creative management team of TNA will undergo an immediate change. Tommy Dreamer, who has worked in TNA's Creation and Talent Relations departments, is leaving the company following a mutual agreement between TNA and Dreamer to go their separate ways. TNA Wrestling has also reached an agreement on the termination of Tessa Blanchard's contract. We wish Tessa, Tommy, and the rest the best in their future endeavors," wrote Anthem Sports.
Anthem Media's statement does not mention Sami Callihan's departure, although it has been confirmed by Mike Johnson of PWInsider and, just a few minutes ago, by the wrestler himself. Callihan retired as an active wrestler last summer to take on a backstage producer role. The former World Champion will now focus on his promotion Pro Wrestling Revolver.
"I thought they were going to call me today to offer me a position in the creative department... but no. I have left TNA. Well... onto the next adventure. Check out my company PW Revolver," Callihan wrote on his X account.
At the moment, the total number of departures as part of this staff reduction is unknown. This move comes just two weeks before Slammiversary, one of TNA Wrestling's most important events on the calendar.
