Matt Hardy talked about the future of The Hardyz and made it clear that, for now, neither he nor Jeff have plans to retire. In a conversation with GOW Media, he explained that both want to keep competing as long as they can physically do so.
Hardy said the goal is to "keep going until our bodies say enough" and that, in the meantime, they want to continue living their dream and giving back to the industry. He also emphasized that they are very committed to sharing their experience with young wrestlers.
We try to continue with this spiral until it reaches its end, and that is, in a way, our goal. When our bodies tell us something like "Okay, enough," that's when we'll stop. But until then, we're going to keep living the dream of our childhood and try to give back what we have received and help people.
Among the names he mentioned as part of that new generation were Private Party and Leon Slater. For Matt, helping emerging talents with small tips and learnings is an important part of this stage of their careers.
Additionally, this weekend the Hardy will face off against The System and The Righteous in a ladder match for the TNA World Tag Team Championships at Slammiversary. So, far from thinking about retirement, they remain fully focused on competing for gold.
