Oba Femi is the new King of the Ring. Fears of a possible intervention by Brock Lesnar in WWE Night of Champions did not materialize, and "The Ruler" was able to fulfill his destiny to become king. The Nigerian defeated a resilient Jey Uso in the first match of the night, which lasted just under eight minutes.

A motivated Uso was able to surprise Femi at various points in the match, using the most powerful moves in his arsenal in an attempt to overcome "The Ruler". Jey tried everything: from superkicks to spears, and even his Uso Splash. But nothing was strong enough to keep his opponent down on the mat.

It was then that Jey decided to change his strategy. The Samoan caught Femi in a sleeperhold on the mat, the same move that allowed him to defeat Gunther at WrestleMania to win his first - and only - world championship. However, it also proved futile against Oba, who would ultimately secure the victory with his classic combination of attacks and a definitive Fall From Grace.

After the match, Femi delivered a brief promo to celebrate his rise from "governor" to "king". "It feels great to go from being a ruler to being a king. Jey Uso didn't understand who he was facing tonight. He thought he was just facing a man. You may be able to defeat a man, but you cannot defeat destiny. And most importantly, you cannot defeat me! Because I am The Ruler, The Destroyer, The Bringer of War, the Mountain you cannot climb, the Mountain you cannot conquer, the one above all, The Beast Slayer, The One, The Chosen One, The King of the Ring, OBA FEMI!" exclaimed the Nigerian.

As King of the Ring, Oba has the right to challenge a world champion of his choice at SummerSlam. However, unlike IYO SKY, the winner of the Queen of the Ring tournament, "The Ruler" has not yet chosen an opponent for the biggest event of the summer. It is expected that Oba will offer some clues about this in the upcoming episode of WWE Raw.
