Becky Lynch prepared a surprise encounter for Sami Zayn after his undisputed WWE championship win, and brought Kevin Owens to greet him. The scene was captured in a video posted by WWE on social media, bringing together three individuals with a friendship that dates back many years.
Zayn and Owens have known each other since the early 2000s, when they crossed paths in the independent wrestling scene. Meanwhile, the friendship between Lynch and Zayn began around 2009, when both were trying to make a name for themselves in the industry and shared the same struggles and professional growth.
During the clip, Zayn was visibly moved by the reaction he received after winning the title. He acknowledged that he thought only a few cared for him, but the response was much bigger than he expected.
Owens, who has been sidelined from the ring due to a neck injury since last year, also took part in the celebration. Despite not competing, he remains connected to WWE through the program Legends & Future Greats and recently served as a host at the NXT Great American Bash.
