Chelsea Green suffered an orbital bone fracture during her most recent match on the episode of WWE SmackDown last week. The injury occurred at the worst possible moment for the Canadian, who had just been crowned WWE Interim Champion. However, the company expects to continue featuring her on television programming, even if she cannot participate in action, as revealed in a recent report by WrestleVotes on Fightful Select.

"Although WWE remains optimistic about Chelsea Green's injury status, WrestleVotes has learned through Fightful Select that the company has no intention of derailing the momentum surrounding the wrestler. Green, who suffered an orbital bone fracture during the August 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, will be out of action for several weeks," the outlet wrote.

"According to a source, Green is not expected to be taken off television or stripped of the championship. As of August 12, she was scheduled to appear on the August 14 episode of SmackDown. WWE was impressed by the social media engagement following Green's title win at SummerSlam," the report concluded.

This is not the first time Green has appeared on television without medical clearance. Earlier this year, she suffered an ankle injury that kept her out of the ring for several weeks. However, Chelsea continued to participate in shows while seated in a wheelchair until the day she received medical clearance. Her backstage attitude and work ethic are highly valued in the company.
