Bayley and Lyra Valkyria have been involved in a story that has spanned over a year. Both women started as rivals and later joined forces with the goal of conquering the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. The failure in this endeavor led to Valkyria carrying out a heel turn to brutally attack "The Role Model", who was sidelined from programming for an extended period of time.
Bayley recently returned to television programming seeking revenge, but was defeated by the Irishwoman. Although the enmity between the two women is not over yet, it is expected to end very soon. In fact, WWE is already planning to conclude this rivalry, with a special idea in mind, as revealed in a recent report by Fightful Select.
"Amidst one of the longest-running rivalries currently ongoing in WWE programming, a source informs us that, as of last week, there was a creative idea for Bayley and Lyra Valkyria to face off in a match with a special stipulation that would be considered 'uncommon' for the women's division," the outlet wrote.
"We have also been informed that the idea is being considered as the culmination of their current rivalry, with a yet-to-be-revealed stipulation that would add an additional element to a dispute that has already lasted for a long period of time. The same source informed WrestleVotes that the stipulation would not be a Hell in a Cell match," the report concluded.
Lyra defeated Bayley on the edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on July 18. After the match, the Irishwoman unleashed a brutal assault on her former partner. An attack that served as a storyline excuse to remove "The Role Model" from television programming while she decided her future with her contract nearing expiration.
Once renewing her agreement with WWE, Bayley returned to programming to resume her rivalry with Valkyria, who had spent weeks boasting about ending a future WWE Hall of Famer. Bayley and Lyra faced off again on the episode of WWE Raw on September 21. The victory went to the Irishwoman after she threw "The Role Model" against the ropes and then covered her with a roll-up. A maneuver that infuriated Bayley, who will soon have a new opportunity to settle the score with her former partner.
