As tradition dictates, Royal Rumble will kick off the Road to WrestleMania, which this time will take place in Saudi Arabia. The first Pay-Per-View event of the year for WWE will be held at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, but on a somewhat unusual date. According to the specialized media outlet Fightful, the show is set to take place in the month of February.
The individuals spoken to by Fightful Select reiterated their belief that Royal Rumble will take place on the weekend of February 6th
The date chosen internally by the company falls between the NFL Conference Championships (January 31st) and the Super Bowl (February 14th), one of the biggest sporting events of the year in the United States. Traditionally, Royal Rumble usually takes place on the last weekend of January. This has been the case in 38 out of the 39 editions of the event. Only the 2025 edition took place in February.
So far, WWE has not released any promotional material for the Pay-Per-View event, although it is expected to feature two Royal Rumble matches, where 30 men and 30 women will compete for the first two spots at WrestleMania 43, where they can vie for the world championship of their choosing.
It is worth noting that this could be the last edition of Royal Rumble to be held in a single night. A report published by WrestleVotes in August revealed that WWE plans to turn its iconic Pay-Per-View event into a two-night show, as is already the case with WrestleMania and SummerSlam. This would allow for the main attraction of the event, the Royal Rumble matches, to be spread over two days, as well as generate higher ticket sales, merchandise, and advertising revenue.
