WWE will hold Crown Jewel tomorrow in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, under unusual circumstances that have made this edition of the event one of the most atypical in recent years. For security reasons, the company has reportedly significantly reduced the number of staff traveling to the country, a measure that would affect not only talent but also crew members and production staff. According to available reports, several employees have reportedly refused to travel due to the heightened military tensions in the region amid the conflict with Iran.
In this regard, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that WWE's commentary team is not in Saudi Arabia with the rest of the traveling staff. According to sources consulted by the journalist, those responsible for calling the show will perform their duties remotely from Stamford, Connecticut, where the company's headquarters are located. Furthermore, a significant portion of the Crown Jewel broadcast will be handled remotely from these facilities, which will also house the production and satellite trucks responsible for coordinating the broadcast.
As has become customary, Crown Jewel will feature a two-hour Countdown Show ahead of the event. For now, WWE has not revealed whether this pre-show will also be produced remotely from Stamford or whether it will feature staff traveling to Saudi Arabia. The company also plans to broadcast its traditional Post Show once the PLE has concluded, although it remains unclear how the broadcast will be handled or where it will originate.
WWE Crown Jewel will take place at The Venue (ANB Venue), a venue with a considerably smaller capacity than Riyadh Season Stadium, where the event was originally scheduled to be held. The show currently features a four-match card, the lowest number in the history of WWE events in Saudi Arabia. However, the company could announce additional matches in the coming hours.
