One of the biggest challenges that AEW will have to face in the coming weeks and months is undoubtedly the plague of injuries that are overwhelming them. Yesterday it was reported that both Nick Wayne and Swerve Strickland are dealing with injuries, so they will join Will Ospreay on the company's injury list.

The British wrestler mentioned after All In that he was dealing with a complicated neck injury that could prevent him from competing at the London event. However, during his appearance on the latest episode of Dynamite, he stated that he will fight in Forbidden Door despite not having medical clearance.

Ospreay is dealing with a spinal injury, specifically multiple herniated discs. In an interview with SI's the Takedown, he stated: "I have some herniated discs pressing on my spinal cord, which is affecting some of my nerves. But I can still do things and I can fight one last time before I have to correct all of this."

The former AEW International Champion revealed that after All In, the company's doctors recommended an extended break, as his injury was worse than initially expected. However, he decided to participate in the London event. Fortunately, it is a problem that "won't worsen, it just needs to be fixed," he commented on Screen off Script.

No date set for surgery

In the interview with Screen of Script, Ospreay also revealed that he does not have a set date for his surgery: "We still don't have an exact date and don't know when I'll be able to return. Although it's something that makes me nervous, everyone is confident that I can participate in this match", he explained. Additionally, he does not have a return date from the injury, contrary to the 12 to 15 months suggested by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

The determination of the British wrestler will ultimately allow him to join Darby Allin, Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Kota Ibushi to participate in that Lights Out Steel Cage. "If there's a chance I won't be the same after Forbidden Door, I want to be Will Ospreay one last time", concluded Will Ospreay.
