Matt Riddle lashes out at GWK and wrestling fans: "Most of you are damn idiots"

Matt Riddle has been at the center of controversy since last weekend. The MLW World Heavyweight Champion was scheduled to participate in the event Global Wrestling Kingdom: A New Kingdom Rises, held on August 31 in Barnsley, England. However, Riddle did not show up, nor did he return the money he received in advance.

A gesture that has been harshly criticized by fans as it was a charity event benefiting victims of domestic violence and homeless veterans. In the last few hours, Riddle has posted a couple of videos on his Instagram account to offer his version of the events, in which he didn't hold back.

"I'll be brief. GWK, the reason I didn't go is because you booked me a flight for Thursday for a show that was on Sunday, and you said you were going to schedule signings, other matches, and appearances for me. You did none of that. I had nothing scheduled, and I was going to be stuck in a hotel room in London for two days. I told you multiple times I can't do that, that I wouldn't do it. I had work on Friday, Saturday, and also on Thursday. I worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I told you I would fly to London on Saturday night. You said, 'Pay for it yourself.' I said, 'No, you pay for it. Deduct it from my payment, or whatever.' You refused, so I flew to Miami and wrestled there. I never said I wouldn't reimburse you, that's a lie. Also, this show wasn't a charity event. That's a lie; it was a last-minute change. You also booked me the worst flight in history, bro. Middle seat, no food, no checked baggage. GWK, this is probably your last attempt," he said in his first video.

"I can explain everything in great detail. I'm not lying, but the truth is I don't give a shit anymore. Most of you, motherfuckers, are damn idiots. Just like when you believed all that MeToo shit and all that garbage. All of you are fucking morons, and it's fucking crazy. It's fucking crazy. You believe these damn perverts. Whatever, mate. In the end, they'll keep hiring me, I'll probably fight again. I'm doing great on OnlyFans because I have a huge dick, you know, and I'm damn charming, mate. These statements, while they may sound quite unfortunate, are not surprising. Riddle has been involved in controversies since his time as a WWE superstar. Something that has not changed in his subsequent stage in the independent scene. At the moment, it is unknown if MLW, the company he has been under contract with since late 2023, will take any action regarding this.
