Professional wrestling is unique in its kind. We are not talking about sport itself, but about a sport-show, where scripted stories are a central piece of this machinery. Fans, aware of this, let themselves be carried away to enjoy personal rivalries and battles between heroes and villains where everything is at stake.

Of all the companies in the sector, there is one that stands out above the rest: WWE. It is not only the most internationally known company, but also the one that gives the most importance to its stories. This is evident in its weekly shows, where promos and segments consume a good part of the time of each episode.

Triple H, WWE's Chief Brand Officer, was asked about this during a recent appearance on Nightcap with Unc & Ocho. During his intervention, the legend made it clear that WWE is not the typical sports company. Something that he constantly has to remind all those who try to understand what WWE is all about.

"That's what we do, right? I say it many times when people don't understand it, like when we talk to television executives and they are trying to figure out what we are... I tell them that we are less boxing and more Rocky, okay? We are not the sport, we are a movie about the sport," said Triple H.

"And Rocky is really a love story, right? It just has boxing as a backdrop," Hunter continued. "Very few people, unless you are an incredibly passionate student of the technical aspects, re-watch the Super Bowl from five years ago. People still watch WrestleMania 3 today. Forty years later, they still watch it. It's the story, it's the show, it's all of that. That's where we are different. We are a show and a narrative."
