Chad Gable, one of the most talented wrestlers in all of WWE, has been off television since last June. The American Made star had to step away from programming to undergo surgery on his left shoulder's rotator cuff. Since then, a recovery process began, from which, except for some occasional updates, not much was known. However, a few minutes ago, some light has been shed on the situation.
Sean Ross Sapp, a journalist from Fightful, has announced that it is very likely that Gable will return to television in the very near future. Although an exact date has not been communicated, estimates place the Olympic athlete's return in the short term.
Ross Sapp is a fairly reliable source within the world of wrestling, whose information and revealed plans tend to be quite accurate. Therefore, it would not be surprising to see Gable return in the coming weeks, especially considering the month of January, which is filled with important shows within the company.
In addition to the already classic Royal Rumble, the first Raw of 2026 (which will have a special Stranger Things theme) and the new installment of Saturday Night's Main Event, which will take place a week before the first PLE of the year. Any of these scenarios would be conducive to returns and impactful moments that the company wants to generate - not only Gable's, but possibly others like the reappearance of Chris Jericho.
With this information, the question many are asking is what will happen with Chad Gable when he returns. Judging by recent episodes, it would be most logical for him to be involved in two different rivalries. The first of them would be against Penta. The Mexican was the one responsible for taking Gable off television within kayfabe, when he applied a sacrifice to his already injured shoulder, which ended up injuring him further. At SummerSlam 2025, a mask vs mask match between them was planned (with Gable appearing as the Grande Americano), so it would not be surprising if the Olympic athlete decided to seek revenge for what happened.

On the other hand, it would also not be surprising to see a rivalry between the two Grandes Americano, Ludwig Kaiser and Gable himself. The German took on the character after the departure of the American Made leader, giving it a new twist and turning it into one of the great attractions of Lucha Libre AAA.
