Chelsea Green has had the most bittersweet couple of weeks of her professional career. The Canadian reached the sky after winning the WWE Women's Interim Championship at SummerSlam, only to suffer an orbital bone fracture just a few days later, which almost forced her to relinquish the title.
The injury occurred during her tag team match against Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) on the August 7 episode of SmackDown. Last Friday, the Canadian starred in one of the most emotional segments of her professional career, convincing Nick Aldis, General Manager of the blue brand, to allow her to keep the championship until someone can take it from her in a match. A promo that, ultimately, Reid attributed to Fatal Influence, as she stated in her most recent appearance on Busted Open.
"Well, apparently it wasn't enough," Lainey replied when asked what she and Henley did to Green. "Because she came back out on Friday and maybe had the best segment of her career, so, you're welcome. That moment wouldn't have happened without Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley. However, I'm a strong style wrestler. I think Fatal Influence, in general, represents a strong style that people haven't seen in years; I'll say it. And, therefore, if you're not ready for the way we're going to come at you, you might be in trouble."
Reid was also asked if she felt any remorse for what happened to Chelsea. "I feel like the only remorse I have is the fact that she still has a chance to compete for the title. The remorse is not finishing the job," she replied.
Currently, Fatal Influence is experiencing the best period in its history, with all three faction members holding a championship from the main roster. Reid and Henley are the current WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, while Jacy Jayne captured the United States Women's Championship in the most recent episode of SmackDown.
