After the Clash in Paris show, WWE doesn't stop. Their next stop will be in Indianapolis on September 20th, where the company will have one of its most important events in recent months. Following their million-dollar deal with ESPN, WWE will broadcast their first show on the sports network. Given the importance of the event, it is shaping up to be a historic night for TKO's company, full of surprises, returns, and stellar matches. This was made clear by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, where he explained that Wrestlepalooza will not be just another Premium Live Event. "They are definitely going all out. This is not your typical monthly pay-per-view," said Meltzer, who even compared the show to the first episode of SmackDown on FOX or the Raw Premiere on Netflix.
During his intervention, Meltzer also mentioned that AJ Lee's return to the ring after more than ten years would be the main attraction of the event. The journalist explained that, following the events at Clash in Paris, where Becky Lynch helped Seth Rollins defeat CM Punk to retain his title, AJ Lee's near future would involve a return to WWE. He explained that if WWE is investing so much in this tag team feud, it's logical that the wrestler's return is already confirmed. On the other hand, the other major attraction of the event is the clash between John Cena and Brock Lesnar one last time. Lesnar, whose name appeared in Janel Grant's double lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon for sex trafficking, returned to the programming at the end of SummerSlam to attack Cena. After many rumors about where this anticipated match could take place, it seems that Indianapolis will finally be the city to witness one last showdown between both stars. Another match that will take place at WrestlePalooza is the showdown between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed Championship. Rhodes was taken off the SmackDown program after SummerSlam following a brutal Claymore from McIntyre through the commentary table. WWE justified Rhodes' absence by filming Street Fighter due to this attack, and while the Champion was off television, it has been McIntyre who has carried the rivalry. The only confirmed match at the moment is the anticipated showdown between IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer for the World Women's Championship. Adam Pearce confirmed on the last episode of Raw that the number 1 contender and the former champion would compete for the title left vacant by Naomi. After the events at the close of the last Raw, where Jimmy Uso saved his brother Jey from The Vision's attack, it seems that WWE wants to reunite the Uso brothers on a stage as grand as this.
